Swim Suit Tips (offered by Beleza Style):

There are many styles to best show off your body and give you confidence on stage or elsewhere.  You have to know what you want to emphasize and what you don't.  Always accentuate the positive and downplay the negatives and aim for a balanced silhouette.  When allowed in a pageant, bikinis are usually the most popular, but don't select a 2 piece because everyone else is wearing one.  If you have a slim midriff, go for it.  If your tummy isn't so flat these days, go for a one piece.  A one piece suit can be just as sexy!

A solid colored one piece can slenderize.  It also creates an elongating affect on the petite gal and doesn't break up the body (causing the body to look shorter).  A solid, one-piece suit with a plunging neckline creates a continual, long appearance and is absolutely, drop dead gorgeous!

A high cut leg elongates your thighs for a long and lean look.  If you have voluptuous hips, then all the better. This cut will also accentuate your smaller waist.

For a larger bust, halter tops are supportive, flattering and showoff cleavage. Busty women can also try a sports top. These tops keep everything in place and add the comfort of full coverage.

For a smaller bust, halter can pushup and create cleavage.  In addition to padding, under-wire or push-up styles, small-chested women can wear suits that gather along the bust line to add fullness.

Wide shouldered gals should choose a swimsuit or bikini with a halter top. Thick straps up top help make shoulders look more proportional.

For a Short Torso, a one piece with a high neckline will stretch you out! Or look for a two piece that sits a little lower on your hips.

For a Long Torso, a bikini is usually best and you are free to wear embellishments such as rings, jewels, etc. at the hips and bust line. If you want a one-piece swimsuit, try a cut-out suit. It will break up your long torso, just like a bikini does.

To Tan or not to tan?  That is the question!
A little tan goes a long way for a smoother, slimmer and more toned look. There are so many options today.  If you are not comfortable tanning in the sun or in a booth, now you can get a great looking tan with self tanners.  Whether you do it at home, get it airbrushed on by a professional or go to a self tanning booth like Mystic TanŽ, you can still look "sun kissed" without the harmful exposure!  If you choose to self tan, always, always, test it out a few weeks prior to your event.  Remember you don't want tan lines.  Well, the same goes for streaks or spots too!

Colors, so many options, which should I choose?
First of all, don't just select a color you like, make sure it is a good color for YOU, your skin tone and compliments your hair/ eyes especially if its for the stage!  Some colors can enhance a tan or dark skin.  On another note, if you are fair skinned, a neon shade or primary color is not for you.  Always consult with your retailer for the best color.  When choosing the color, remember the intensity of the stage lights and the tanning you might do should be taken into consideration.

Accessories
For the stage, always keep your accessories minimal.  For swimsuit competition, all you need are shoes and maybe some earrings.  Shoes should always be clear or skin tone.  NEVER EVER, wear shoes to match your swimsuit!  The clear or skin tone shoe will give you a longer leg look and not cause any distractions.  We have several styles of taupe shoes for your competition - click here to view our selection.

To Glue or Not to Glue

"Butt Glue," it comes in spray or roll-on. Some pageant folks get carried away with this sticky stuff.  You only need it if your swimsuit rides up on you and gives you the proverbial "wedgie."  Beleza swimsuits are made of a tight fitting LycraŽ and have good butt coverage, so chances are you might not need it.  Depending on your figure and how the suit falls on you, or if you just want that extra security, then go for it, stick it on!  And just for the record, if you use it, go for the roll-on, it works better and won't damage your suit like a spray.  Click HERE to order body glue today.

What should I do with my hair?
Hair should be kept simple.  If you are a little fuller on the bottom, consider wearing your hair down to give a more proportional look.  If you wear your hair tied back or up, it will only accentuate your fullness. If your figure is proportionate, you are safe to do whatever hairstyle.

And always be sure to practice in your suit and heels.

Remember, practice always makes perfect!
